Quebec Building Code Standards for Balconies

Quebec's Building Code requires that any balcony more than 600mm above grade be equipped with a guardrail at least 1070mm (42 inches) high. Openings between spindles must not allow passage of a 100mm diameter sphere. Minimum design load is 1.0 kPa for residential spaces.
